Under the general direction of the Outreach Division Chief, (Staff Services Manager III) the Information Officer II, will assume the responsibility to coordinate the BOE Statewide outreach/compliance program. The Information Officer II will formulate and administer outreach programs to meet taxpayer service objectives critical to the agency’s implementation of AB155 (tax gap/nexus). The incumbent will work with Second District management, Board Member staff, and EAD staff in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of tax program events and dissemination of news and information through the most effective and efficient manner. Serves as the regional outreach stakeholder specialist in the Second District, and will be the local AB155 contact for tax practitioner and industry/business organizations on all non-case related matters. Focus on local regional engagement of the business, nonprofit and tax practitioner communities. Develop and implement the Second District annual regional communication plan. Working knowledge of the Board of Equalization is desirable. Travel required 25% of the time. This position is limited term and will end 6/30/2014. This position may become permanent. The position is located in high-rise building. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
