Under the general supervision of the Senior Information Systems Analyst (Supervisor) of the Client Services Support Unit, the incumbent provides direct assistance and services to Department staff experiencing problems with computer and computing systems. The incumbent further performs a variety of analytical duties of complex difficulty related to the support, installation, and maintenance of network processes and office automation systems. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Direct Services & Support: Works independently and with minimum supervision. Provides direct service and support to CDE employees who are experiencing problems with their desktop PC’s, portable computing systems, associated printers, multi-function devices, network connections, and other related hardware and software.
Technical Support Center (TSC): Participates in and supports the work of the TSC. Performs typical TSC duties, such as: taking calls from employees who are reporting problems with computing systems, issuing work tickets to staff that will be responsible for directly resolving problems reported, and providing relief to regular TSC employees.
Lead/Team Member: At times leads a group of technically trained co-workers in the accomplishment of a specific project, large task, or group of small tasks. Serves as an active and contributing member of special task forces or teams that may be formed from time to time to accomplish specific large projects and assist in maintaining the Client Services Support Help Desk (FootPrints) automated asset and call tracking/reporting system and desktop management tools (Beyond Trust, Desktop Authority, Acronis, etc.) and desktop patch management (WSUS).
Training & Tutoring: Occasionally trains individual employees and possibly small groups of employees in specific computer skills and abilities.
Strong office automation and information technology support skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Maintain excellent client relations
Support management and the missions and goals of the division and unit
