JOB ADVERTISEMENT Under close supervision of a Business Taxes Administrator I, the eServices Business Taxes Representative (BTR) learns the routine phases of the analysis activities of the Return Analysis Unit (RAU) and all processes involving eServices, including Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT), credit card and e-filing programs. In addition, the eServices BTR resolves aged unapplied payments. The eServices BTR interprets and applies sales and use tax law, transactions tax law, regulations and annotations to ensure taxpayer’s compliance. The eServices BTR analyzes sales and use tax e-filed returns, reviews taxpayer correspondence, communicates with taxpayers and other BOE staff through verbal and written communication, establishes determinations for additional tax, interest and penalties amounts due, performs return maintenance, processes relief from penalty cases and makes recommendations, and assists billing and adjustment staff with more complex cases. The eServices BTR assures EFT and credit card payments and related reports are maintained timely and properly. This position also requires excellent customer service skills as the eServices BTR is responsible for answering all questions related to EFT processing on the EFT Helpline. The eServices BTR assists in the EFT registration process when needed during peak periods. The position is located in a high-rise building. Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. Describe the techniques you use to maintain good quality service and/or products, in a high production or fast paced work environment. You may use experience from your current or previous job.
