Job Description:
All applicants will be considered, however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. Under the general supervision of a Staff Services Manager II in the Appeals Division, the incumbent provides direct secretarial and administrative support for multiple Appeals Attorneys and/or Conference Auditors including the full range of basic and complex secretarial duties. Prepares and edits a variety of intricate legal documents involving significant dollar amounts, various tax and fee programs as well as multiple parties and state agencies. The incumbent will be expected to communicate daily in writing and by phone with taxpayers, taxpayer representatives, elected Board Members and their staff, various legislative offices, and other state agencies such as the Franchise Tax Board, the Office of the Attorney General, the Department of Health Services or the Department of Toxic Substances Control. The incumbent is also expected to independently review and respond to selected written and phone inquiries. The position is located in a high-rise building.
