Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Administrator I and with close coordination with Budget staff, the successful candidate will use California State Accounting and Reporting System (CALSTARS), Monarch, and innovative technology to perform an array of accounting services. Primarily, the incumbent will be responsible for
Federal Funds reconciling and reporting, establishing new grants, preparing additions for CALSTARS table maintenance, draws from ASAP, PFA’s, Fund Balance Verification, and year-end Financial Statements with specialized reporting to include Federal Financial Reports. The successful candidate may act as lead of the General Ledger Unit, work closely with consultants to document procedures and modify processes for improvement, train subordinate staff, and participate in meetings with Control Agencies.
Knowledge of accounting systems; excellent organizational, research and analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate effectively to all staff levels; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain a positive, creative and flexible approach to issues while working in a fast-paced team environment; proficiency with Monarch, Excel and Word software applications, and knowledge of CALSTARS.
