Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Refund Group Supervisor in the Audit Determination and Refund Section, the Business Taxes Specialist I is responsible for reviewing and processing the most complex claims for refund including the most difficult “R” claims, court ordered stipulated judgments, post mortem decisions rendered by the Board Members, decisions and recommendations resulting from Appeals Conference hearings, and class action claims for refund. The Business Taxes Specialist I is also responsible for preparing position papers for claims in the appeals process papers and coordinating the most difficult special projects as directed by the Chief, Headquarters Operations Division resulting from ongoing litigation, processing recommendations for claims filed with the Victims Compensation & Government Claims Board, or special investigations. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
