Job Description:
Position is located in Bakersfield. Under close supervision for the first three to six months, the incumbent conducts field audits of the least to moderately difficult accounts; attends basic tax law and audit training classes; makes audit appointments; meets with taxpayers and their representatives; explains the audit findings; and prepares appropriate audit reports. After the initial training period, incumbent attends additional classes and efficiently performs audit duties under general supervision. Meeting the training requirements for this job may require overnight travel for one or more days. This position is designated as 'Mobile Worker' per Board of Equalization Telework Policy and Guidelines. Candidate must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Candidates should submit a copy of their unofficial transcripts with their application. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered, however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. Hiring above minimum (HAM) will be considered on Range A only. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for up to five consecutive nights.
