JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of the IT Software Asset Manager and the Infrastructure and Software Retirement lead of the IT Asset Management Section in the Operations Management Bureau, the incumbent is responsible for a variety of software management activities related to retiring software and infrastructure software compliance. The activities will include: performing infrastructure software inventory verification, researching and resolving software licensing compliance issues, reviewing maintenance contracts, retiring software, working on various Software Management Plan tasks and participate with process re-engineering efforts as well as audit-finding tasks. All duties are performed within the framework of the Franchise Tax Board’s mission and values, and in accordance with copyright laws, Departmental Policies and General Procedures.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Knowledge and use of software management and project management best practices
Ability to present information or findings to management or other teams
Ability to facilitate meetings with a vairety of audiences and work in a team environment
Good problem-solving and analytical skills using a variety of technical and non-technical resources
Ability to lead small to medium projects and work independently
Experience with maintaining MS Access databases or using SQL Server Management Studio and creating SQL Queries
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes in priorities, workload demands, and IT processes
Experience with Microsoft software tools (Word, Excel, Visio, and Project)
Open minded, flexible and have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
