Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, in the Program Integrity Unit (PIU) of the Nutrition Services Division (NSD), the two Associate Governmental Program Analysts independently provide analytical programmatic staff support in the PIU and ensure that fiscal action and closure of reviews occur timely in accordance with regulations by performing the following:
Analyze and review audits and reports to determine fiscal sanctions to be assessed
Review and analyze all applicable federal and state regulations and contractual provisions supporting fiscal sanctions
Develop Statements of Issue papers used in appeals of audits and reviews
Prepare correspondence to agencies regarding fiscal issues and closure of files
Develop training materials for conferences providing information to Division staff and outside agencies
Prepare analytical reports for the Division management
Communicate with outside agencies and U.S. Department of Agriculture officials to resolve audit and review findings
Excellent organizational and computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word)
Must be able to work within timelines and deadlines and prioritize work
Positive interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of personalities
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong written and oral communication, strong math, and excellent analytical skills desirable
