Under the general direction of the Deputy Director, External Affairs Department, (Career Executive Assignment Level 3), the SSM III provides a high level of assistance and expertise to the Deputy Director in reaching organizational goals, including responsibility for planning, organizing and administering the Board of Equalization’s (BOE) Customer Service and Publishing Division. Responsibility for work of the most critical or sensitive nature as it relates to the department’s primary mission. The Customer Service and Publishing Division supports the BOE’s 25 various tax programs in providing information and service activities, especially those directed at helping taxpayers understand and comply with their tax obligations and the state’s reporting requirements. In addition, the SSM III works to enhance the quality and availability of the information that is available to the public. This position is located in a high-rise building.
