Job Description:
This position requires the incumbent maintain consistent and regular attendance; communicate effectively (orally and in writing if both appropriate) in dealing with the public and/or other employees; develop and maintain knowledge and skill related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools, and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and, adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct.

Under general supervision from the Health Facilities Evaluator Manager I this position oversees, prioritizes, plans work assignments, and assures appropriateness of action taken in a timely manner. This requires an extensive knowledge of the functions of Licensing and Certification Program, as well as a complete understanding and knowledge of the ACLAIMS Data System, ASPEN system, and the federal OSCAR/ODIE Data System via modem from Baltimore.

Completes and/or assists with the high priority, complex assignments such as those from the Director’s office, legislature or a controversial issues; handles confidential matters, i.e., personnel problems, employee conflicts; handles the more difficult telephone calls, i.e. distress and/or irate complainants. Completes monthly reports.

Acts as liaison between professional and support staff to clarify procedures, determine priorities, and resolve conflicts. Interview, select, train, evaluate and counsel support staff. Travel as necessary to required meetings.
