Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator II, (District Principal Compliance Supervisor), the Business Taxes Specialist I performs monthly reviews of accounts and renders advice to staff. The Business Taxes Specialist I perform reviews of assignments through the IRIS Assignment Control and approves or disapproves them. The Business Taxes Specialist I (either individually or as a lead person of a group) will develop, revise, or maintain training course materials for the Department. The Business Taxes Specialist I will also prepare replies to issues of tax law and compliance function policies and procedures, and will serve on special project committees. This position will exercise a high degree of independence and responsibility in these activities. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for up to five consecutive nights. The position is located in a high-rise building. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
