The Emission Inventory Analysis Section within the Air Resources Board's (Board) Planning & Technical Support Division is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting individual to be part of California's greenhouse gas emission inventory team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating the methods and tools used to quantify emissions of greenhouse gases from large construction and development projects. The successful incumbent will also conduct technical evaluations of design features and other mitigation measures to reduce emissions from these projects. The successful candidate will work in a team environment with other inventory specialists developing statewide greenhouse gas emission estimates and forecasts; developing special purpose greenhouse gas inventories; writing technical reports, letters, and memos on greenhouse gas emission-related issues; and presenting technical information to staff, management, and the general public. Strong analytical skills are required as is the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and management at all levels as well as members of the public, private sector, and local governments.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to produce written reports and briefing summaries, the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, familiarity with atmospheric processes related to air pollution and climate change, and a general understanding of Board priorities. Experience with databases is highly desirable.
