Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Business Taxes Administrator II, incumbent will act as a highly skilled technical specialist. The incumbent will coordinate the Investigations programs and special projects at the direction of the BTA II and will act as the lead with professional staff conducting data mining, financial analysis and investigations of the most difficult and complex nature, including investigations of sophisticated interstate and intrastate related companies having potential for evading Board administered taxes. The incumbent will be required to attend task forces meetings throughout the State on a regular basis. The incumbent may issue citations for violations of tax and fee programs administered by the Board. The incumbent will also review investigative reports, detailed confidential financial data that will assist in identifying Statewide interrelated fraud schemes, assist in the Board’s fraud/tax evasion and prosecution efforts, assist and provide technical advice to the staff, assist in coordinating efforts with other government agencies, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating evidence. The incumbent will assist and provide technical advice to the BTA II related to Investigations special projects. Incumbent will participate in interviewing prospective candidates, develop and conduct training on major elements of the program, and develop legislation proposals to make tax program changes. Position will require long and irregular hours, including weekends. Overnight travel 50%. This position has Limited Peace Officer status. Please include position number on application.
