Job Description:
Under close supervision of the Tax Compliance Administrator, the Business Taxes Representative (BTR) is assigned cases by terminal digit and/or other means on active, closed, and revoked sales and use tax accounts up to but not limited to $50,000. (In general, accounts over that amount are assigned to the specialist.) The BTR must keep the supervisor informed of complex issues on assigned cases. The accounts are worked from the office by telephone and/or mail using an inside collection program. When necessary and warranted, field calls will be made to the business location and/or other locations. Work is performed by use of a personal computer in accessing the individual’s caseload. Actions taken are initiated and recorded on the personal computer, as are the case notes. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for up to five consecutive nights. More than one position may be available. Interested candidates must meet educational requirements. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.

Experience -

• Describe your knowledge of the Board of Equalization’s electronic services.
