Job Description:
Job advertisement position is currently located in Van Nuys, but will relocate to the Glendale area; moving expenses will not be paid. Under the general supervision of a Business Taxes Administrator I, the incumbent conducts the more complex business permit and license inspections and corroboration of accurate tax reporting under the Statewide Compliance and Outreach Program (SCOP). Incumbent also prepares investigation reports, conducts field observations, and assists in identifying underreporting. When reporting deficiencies are encountered, incumbent solicits amended tax returns, prepares estimated billings, and prepares audit leads. Incumbent must be able to accept money in the field, provide a receipt, and properly protect the money until it is transferred. The duties performed by this position are primarily carried out in the field. This position may be considered for rotational duties within the same classification. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for up to five consecutive nights. More than one position may be available. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
