This position is in the IT Governance and Portfolio Management team within the Strategic Project Office. Under the direction of the DPM III, the successful candidate will lead the IT Governance and Portfolio Management team. The IT Governance and Portfolio Management team lead will be responsible for coordinating and performing the development and maintenance of the Board of Equalization IT Project Portfolio. Work activities include high level analysis of technology impacts for proposed IT requests, maintenance and monitoring of the IT Governance repository, preparation of internal and external reports, preparation of meeting materials, meeting facilitation, assist in developing cost estimates/resourcing for proposed system changes, and development and/or maintenance of training and procedural documentation. This position may serve as Project Lead for smaller projects with IT components, perform various analysis or research tasks, provide basic support services for projects, facilitate meetings, and cross train on other Strategic Project Office responsibilities. Core knowledge: Information Technology concepts; basics of Operating Systems; principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design and manage requirements; resource strategy and planning; business process reengineering; System Development Life Cycle; Project Management; IT Governance and Portfolio Management; procedures to develop technical and support documentation; emerging technologies and their applications to business processes.
Abilities: Develop an understanding of business processes and practices; provide customer service; mange change; delegate and follow-up on work assignments; good oral and written communication; apply analytical thinking; work with sensitive or confidential information; use sound reasoning to reach accurate conclusions; flexible - open to changes and new information.
Experience with MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Visio desired.
