Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Area’s Office Services Supervisor I, the Office Assistant (Typing) is responsible for processing mail and counter reports for accident reports, prepare receipts for reports sold, manage and process money for prepaid collision reports as detailed in Highway Patrol Manual (HPM) 11.1, Chapter 4, along with any other monies received, process collision reports per HPM 110.5 and General Order 110.2, enter statistical data into MIS and AIS, make necessary copies for Department, County Roads, Caltrans, and SWITRS, manage and file collision reports numerically by year and month, provide efficient telephone service to parties inquiring about collision reports, process notice of victims of violent crimes reports, copy arrest logs and process requests for the same, order and process collision photo requests, schedule accident investigation interviews between the investigation officer and involved parties, perform as receptionist, maintain three copy machines and complete monthly copier report, and perform other job-related duties as required.
