The Secretary of State's Business Programs Division is seeking multiple permanent, full-time Office Assistants (Typing). If you enjoy a fast paced and changing environment, this job may be for you. The positions are located in downtown Sacramento, near Light Rail, K Street Mall, and other amenities.
Duties: Open and distribute mail, sort and distribute submitted documents and prepare documents. Maintain filing system (automated, paper and microfilm), record keeping, microfilming, scanning, indexing and performing quality control of microfilm and/or images. Enter document information into the electronic database, and final entry to the master computer files. Type various documents and entry of information into a document management system. Verbally obtain/provide information clearly, on a one-to-one basis, on the phone, or in person.
Desirable Qualifications: Ability to interact effectively with the public and departmental personnel. Ability to meet deadlines; take initiative; work independently; and has the willingness to learn new duties. Punctuality and good attendance are essential.
Who May Apply: Applicants must have current eligibility for permanent, full-time appointment to the Office Assistant (Typing) classification. All appointments are subject to State Restriction of Appointment (SROA) provisions. Only the most qualified candidates will be interviewed.
