Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the general direction of the Manager, IT Asset Management and Service Desk Section of the Operations Management Bureau (OMB), as the manager of the Knowledge Management Unit (KMU) you provide management oversight and are responsible for planning and directing the activities of staff assigned to finding, organizing, publishing, and training about information technology (IT) knowledge. This includes working with customers and IT partners for the creation and maintenance of procedures and processes. In addition, you provide leadership to your team, which includes motivating, inspiring, and leading by example. You coach, mentor, and apply the principles of personnel management to help your team provide the best service and products to their customers. You provide the tools necessary for team members to reach their professional goals and to attain maximum productivity. You ensure the OMB vision is implemented. You review the work of your team to ensure quality standards are met using various tools. You continually improve current processes, and procedures, create new and retire old processes, and collect and report meaningful metrics. All duties are performed within the framework of the Department’s mission and values, and in accordance with the Department’s Policies and General Procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Excellent colaboration and customer service skills with the ability to address multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Experience leading a team of technical/analytical staff to successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FTB business areas and IT needs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT Asset Management policy, standards and process
  • Experience reengineering existing and implementing new processes
  • Demonstrated human resources skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL Framework/ITIL certification
  • Demonstrated project management skills

WHO MAY APPLY :
Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) will also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
