JOB DESCRIPTION :
Personnel Services is seeking a dynamic individual with personnel transactions experience to perform a variety of duties which would include processing a variety of payroll and benefit documents while providing quality customer service to external and internal customers. Personnel Specialist staff work in a team environment utilizing automated processes to complete multiple confidential workloads for fulltime and hourly employees such as: payroll completion, attendance, benefits, garnishments, and employee accounts receivables. As a team member, you will utilize effective communication with others, ensure operational goals are met, and the department’s Missions and Values are upheld
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

- Familiar with Personnel laws and rules
- Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing personnel workloads
- Ability to work independently or in a team enviornment using good tact and judgement
- Maintain confidentiality with sensitive personnel issues
- Ability to provide quality customer service, communicate effectively, and maintain cooperative relationships
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills including recommending/making changes to personnel work processe
- Personnel Specialist experience
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong work ethic, including attendance and dependability
- Enthusiasm and a sense of humor
Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. A training and development assignment (T & D) will also be considered. All appointments are subject to SROA/Surplus hiring provisions.
