The Nutrition Services Division helps local agencies meet the nutritional needs of children in preschool through grade 12. The Summer Food and Data Management Unit’s team administers the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). We are looking for an experienced analyst who enjoys working with agencies at the local level and is committed to providing great customer service.

DUTIES:

  • Review and be familiar with laws, regulations, and policies affecting child nutrition programs
  • Prepare letters, management bulletins, memos, and technical assistance materials
  • Develop and present training for local, non-public agencies
  • Develop program administration policies, operational guidance, and training materials
  • Work with advocacy groups to develop outreach plans to increase participation in the SFSP

DESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability and willingness to work in a self-directed team environment
  • Experience working in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability and willingness to openly communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with public speaking in both training settings and presentations
  • Travel up to 10 percent as necessary

The Unit will consider Staff Services Analyst candidates for recruitment purposes. Employment provisions as outlined by the Department of Personnel Administration's State Restriction of Appointments (SROA) policy will prevail. In addition, current or future executive orders relative to filling vacant positions may also affect this process. Applications will be screened and only the most qualified will be interviewed.

PLEASE NOTE: Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the minimum qualifications, the applicant will be removed from the eligibility list.
