The Nutrition Services Division is looking for a mature, organized professional to join the Education and Nutrition Policy Unit to support the certification processing and approval of local agencies in the implementation of the new school meal patterns for the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. The Office Technician (Typing) duties will include:
• Reviewing and editing correspondence, reports, approval forms, invoice packages, and other documents for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and form to ensure adherence with the California Department of Education’s standards
• Assisting professional staff in various projects such as: workshops, advisory groups, conferences, and meetings
• Organizing and prioritizing tasks, track multiple assignments, and creating or maintaining electronic and paper files
• Effectively communicating with a wide variety of staff
• Screening telephone calls, answering questions, directing calls to appropriate staff, and taking concise messages
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent proofreading and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Windows Office Suite (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access), ability to maintain poise in a high-pressure setting, and ability to work with strong personalities.
