Per the Governor's Executive Order, through June 30, 2013, employee salaries will be reduced by 4.62% in exchange for eight (8) hours of leave. The salary above DOES NOT reflect this reduction. This is a 24 month limited term position with the potential for converting to permanent at a later time. Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I and the lead direction of the Associate Governmental Program Analyst-Institution Workers’ Compensation Analyst, the Staff Services Analyst performs average analytical tasks assigned. Organizes and coordinates High Desert State Prison’s Workers’ Compensation and Return to Work (RTW) program. Functions as one of the institution resources in issues regarding work-related injuries and medical restrictions. Confers with the State Compensation Insurance Fund in managing claims for employee/inmate job injuries, benefits and Early Intervention referrals. Gathers statistics and keeps abreast on current workers’ compensation issues. Tracks types of injuries, circumstances and prepares comparative analysis/reports. Maintains interactive process with injured workers. Acts as liaison with State Compensation Insurance Fund adjusters attorneys, Early Intervention counselors and medical specialists. Reviews specialist’s reports/diagnosis and makes recommendations to management regarding disposition of claims. Review modified duty restrictions and coordinates with departments the feasibility of light duty assignments. If interested, submit a completed State application (STD678)to the address above.
