Job Description:
Under the close supervision of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) independently performs the more difficult professional accounting work in the establishment and maintenance of financial records and reports for the Revolving Fund in the Travel Services Unit. Provides accounting expertise to management and Accounting staff. Considerable contact is made with Board of Equalization (BOE) management, Department of Personnel Administration, State Controller’s Office, and BOE employees. The incumbent also serves as the lead person responsible for providing guidance to staff and oversight of projects having BOE-wide impact. Performs other duties as required. Knowledge of computer software programs, good communication, interpersonal, analytical, and customer service skills required. Educational requirements: Equivalent to graduation from college, with specialization in accounting, or completion of the equivalent 19 semester hours of coursework including elementary and advanced accounting, auditing, cost accounting, and business law. Applicants must submit a complete Standard State Application (STD 678) and include college transcripts. Applications must be received by the final filing date. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
