The California Board of Accountancy (CBA) is a small, team-oriented group of 79.9 staff, which has as its main focus the licensing and regulation of Certified Public Accountants. The CBA is a “special funded” organization, where every employee has the opportunity to make a difference. This Staff Services Manager I position is in the CBA’s Enforcement Division over the Non Technical Investigations and Program/Committee Support Units.

The CBA is located in a facility that offers FREE PARKING, as well as an on-site FITNESS CENTER. It is located less than one mile from Arden Fair Mall and is only one block from a light rail station.
The duties include the following: Plans, organizes, directs and reviews the work performed by seven Associate Governmental Program Analysts, two Staff Services Analysts and three Office Technicians(T). Reviews reports related to violations of the Accountancy Act and/or CBA rules related to administrative violations, convictions, and suspensions and revocations before other governmental agencies. Coordinates technical support to the Office of the Attorney General for cases referred for formal discipline, including matters related to citations and fines. Assists the Office of the Attorney General on coordinating legal opinions, accusations, prosecution strategy, and stipulated settlements and monitor cases through the disciplinary process. Travel is required four to six times a year to attend CBA and Committee meetings.
Title 11, Section 703(d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, incumbents in this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring.
Eligible candidates are: Current state employees with status in the above classification or lateral transfers from an equivalent class, former state employees who can reinstate into this class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for this classification. Training & Development Assignments may be considered.
