Job Description:
Under general supervision, the Tax Technician I performs the less difficult and complex technical work and is responsible for basic compliance and support functions. This includes, but is not limited to, applying laws, rules and policies relating to the Board of Equalization’s programs; performing account maintenance duties, including the filing and pulling of taxpayer records and account files; accessing taxpayer information via a video terminal and/or modifying account information as necessary; and processing of the incoming and out-going mail which may include money payments and handling of sensitive and confidential material. Perform other job related duties as necessary. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for one or more days. The incumbent will receive an additional $100.00 per month pay differential. This position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. All applicants will be considered however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. More than one position may be available.
