Under the general direction of the Captain, Adult Institution, for the Field Court Compliance Team and indirect supervision of the Correctional Administrator, Office of Audits and Court Compliance (OACC), the Field Correctional Counselor II Specialist (CC II Spec.) works collaboratively with the Warden at Calipatria State Prison and Centinela State Prison, the institution's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator, and other institution staff as needed to implement Federal and State laws and Departmental policies and procedures involving ADA. The OACC Field CC II (Spec.) works closely with the OACC staff at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters and the institution’s ADA Coordinator to establish and maintain the CDCR Disability Placement Program (DPP) and Development Disability Program (DDP) policies at the institution. This position will require some travel. Pursuant to the January 18, 2007 Injunction issued by the Federal court in Armstrong v. Brown, the Field CC II (Spec.) will report to the OACC, which has sufficient command authority within the CDCR institutions.
The OACC Field CC II (Spec.) will perform a variety of tasks to uphold effective ADA standards and ongoing compliance with Federal and State laws and Departmental regulations, policies and procedures.
