Communications Center (LACC) is on a 3/12 alternate work week, and quarterly

salary, Public Safety Dispatchers (PSD) receive an additional $300.00 per month
recruitment and retention pay.
Duties: LACC is a public safety answering
point. Employees answer 9-1-1, public, and allied agency lines, as well
as making out-going calls to service providers, allied agencies and
citizens. PSDs must be able to document information into a computer aided
dispatch (VisiCAD) system quickly and accurately and take appropriate action on
each call. The classification requires a certified net typing speed of 40
words per minute.
Must be able to maintain a good rapport with employees, peers, allied agencies,
and the public. Will be expected to report to work on time, with a
minimum number of absences and a willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
