Under the general direction of a Business Taxes Administrator II (Principal), the Office Technician (OT) – Typing performs a variety of specialized support tasks and technical duties for the Sales and Use Tax Division, independently performs a wide variety of the most difficult administrative and office support duties that require confidentiality and a substantial degree of autonomy. The OT-Typing is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative, independence and originality in performing their assigned tasks. Meeting the training requirements for this job may require overnight travel for one or more consecutive nights. This position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
In addition to the Standard State Application (STD. 678), no more than a one-page typed response to the following questions must be submitted with your application.
1. Describe a situation in which you assisted a customer or client. What level of contact did you have with them? What specific actions did you take to assist the customer or client? What was the end result?
2. Describe the nature of and your experience in maintaining confidential information. Was this information hard copy or electronic? How did you ensure that there was no breach of confidentiality?
3. Describe your experiences in preparing electronic reports. Did you prepare this document in Microsoft Excel or in Word? How was this report utilized and who was the recipient?
