Under the general supervision of the Assistant Chief of Field Operations, Sales and Use Tax Department, the Technical Advisor for the Assistant Chief of Field Operations provides guidance and assistance to the applicable district and branch offices throughout the State. The Technical Advisor provides consultation and advice on tax programs and administrative issues relative to the operations of field offices; develops and makes recommendations on sales and use tax policies and procedures, and reviews and evaluates program effectiveness and operational efficiency. The Technical Advisor assists in the development and implementation of strategies for effective and efficient administration of the sales and use tax program and coordinates field operation projects and activities with other intradepartmental and interdepartmental functions. Candidate must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. This position requires the incumbent to travel up to 25% of the time. Meeting the training requirements for this position may require overnight travel for one or more nights. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted. The position is located in a high-rise building. All applicants will be considered; however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority.
