Job Description:
Under the general direction of a Supervising Tax Auditor III, the Associate Tax Auditor (ATA) analyzes and processes the moderate to more difficult level claims for refund under the Sales and Use Tax laws. The incumbent corresponds with claimants, their representatives, BOE district offices and other State agencies regarding refunds and offsets. The incumbent will prepare documentation supporting audit findings. The incumbent issues written claim denials and will assist or participate in appeals conferences involving disputed claims. Position may become permanent. The position is located in a high-rise building.
