Job Description:
Under the supervision of a TMS, the incumbent works in the removal & trimming of trees & spraying of chemicals for insect, disease & weed control. This position works with the local field tree crew or crews for assigned work. Performs work directed from supervisor & onsite direction provided by a TML. Must utilize & promote safety rules at all times; maintain simple work reports, inspects & maintains equipment before & during field operations. Works with a crew that climbs trees by means of ropes or mechanical devices, other than gaffs, lowers cut limbs & branches by slings and/or lines; uses chain saws & hand saws of varying sizes; treats cut surfaces to protect from fungi & insect; cuts brush & weeds along State right of way; & processes cut branches through a chipper. Must be able to travel during seasonable time periods with crew.
