Job Description:
All applicants will be considered, however, SROA/Surplus will be given priority. Under close supervision of the Supervising Tax Auditor, the Tax Auditor performs the least to moderately difficult field audits or examinations of fee payer’s accounts and records under the Special Taxes Audit and Carrier Division programs. Analyze business records and fee payer claims for refunds, correspond and discuss the application of tax laws with tax and fee payers, attorneys and accountants. This position is based in Houston Texas and may require up to 50% travel, both in-state and out-of-state, including overnight travel. Tax Auditor Hire-Above-Minimum total salary rate of $3262, Range A only. To be considered for this position, you must submit an unofficial copy of your college transcripts with your application. The position requires the incumbent to be fingerprinted.
