Job Description: The Position: The Office of the Secretary of State is recruiting to fill a permanent, full-time Senior Information Systems Analyst (Specialist) position in the Information Technology Division. Under the general direction of the Infrastructure Section Manager (DPM III), the incumbent will serve as a core team member for the VoteCal project and will be responsible for coordinating or participating in project activities and managing related infrastructure development projects.
The Secretary of State is seeking an individual with an extensive background in infrastructure systems design and analysis, mastery of the Systems Development Life Cycle and strong oral and written communication skills who will represent the Information Technology Division as a technical subject matter expert and as a contributing team member.
The incumbent must have working knowledge of project management practices and principles and have an expert level of knowledge of data processing concepts with the ability to apply that knowledge when evaluating business processes.
The incumbent will participate in design sessions and regularly interface with project team members, the systems integration vendor, other contracted project staff, county elections staff and the staff of other state departments.
The incumbent will review vendor deliverables and analyze change requests and provide recommendations and analysis.
The incumbent will be dedicated to this project and will be highly adaptable to unpredictable changes in the project schedule.
Who May Apply: Applicants must be currently in the Senior Information Systems Analyst (Specialist) classification or have current transfer, list or reinstatement eligibility for a permanent, full-time appointment to the Senior Information Systems Analyst (Specialist) classification. For recruiting purposes, this position may be filled as a Systems Software Specialist II (Technical). All appointments are subject to State Restriction of Appointment (SROA) provisions.
