Job Description:
THE POSITION: The Secretary of State, Political Reform Division is seeking one permanent, full-time Supervising Program Technician III. The incumbent will report to the Political Reform Chief and the Political Reform Program Administrator/Assistant Chief. The Supervisor will supervise Political Reform Division staff in Office Technician, Program Technician (all levels) and Office Assistant classifications, and provide support for Division Administrative and analytical staff.

DUTIES: Under the direction of the Assistant Division Chief, the Supervising Program Technician III oversees daily operations and program functions of the Political Reform Division, utilizing knowledge of program and administrative policies and procedures. The Supervisor keeps management apprised of current issues; organizes, prioritizes, and monitors Division work flow; assists in Division projects; attends meetings; drafts correspondence; monitors staff attendance; initiates disciplinary actions as warranted; resolves most complex issues resulting from filer, public, media, other agency, or Division concerns or questions; assists in the employee hiring process; and other duties as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Exercise a high degree of initiative, independence of action, tact, and good judgment. Work well under pressure, handle changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Supervise subordinates in a positive manner; have strong organizational and communications skills; establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others. Perform research and provide accurate information in a timely manner. Possess a working knowledge of personal computers and various software applications.
