Job Description:

DUTIES: Under direction of the Education Administrator I of the Title I Monitoring and Support Office (TIMSO) and the Director of the Improvement and Accountability Division (IAD), and working cooperatively with program units and supervisors throughout the California Department of Education (CDE), the Education Programs Consultant (EPC) works independently on activities that support implementing and monitoring programs managed by the TIMSO. The TIMSO is responsible for interfacing with other CDE staff and local educational agencies (LEAs) to provide ongoing training and technical assistance related to the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Travel is required for this position.

  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of research techniques related to program planning, administration, and evaluation
  • Knowledge and expertise in standards-based curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development in low-performing schools and districts
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and diverse multi-task team environments
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with Access

An individual who possesses a master’s or doctorate degree, or a valid California administration credential or credential or life diploma of equivalent authorization must attach a copy of that document to their application.
