DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Child Nutrition Supervisor IIs in the Field Services Unit within the Nutrition Services Division, the Child Nutrition Supervisor I supervises the activities of staff that conduct program compliance reviews, provide technical assistance, and train agencies. Specifically, the incumbent performs the following duties:
Supervise the activities of regional staff that conduct compliance reviews, vendor reviews, management and technical reviews, and workshops, as well as review and evaluate reports prepared by staff as a result of the compliance reviews
Supervise and assist in reviewing nutrition programs to determine agency compliance with state and federal regulations
Collaborate with management and others to establish, educate, evaluate, and continuously streamline procedures and other resources to ensure solidarity in communication to agencies
Direct staff in the interpretation of applicable laws and regulations; determine agency needs; and provide customer service such as on-site visits, technical assistance, and pre-review training seminars
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be willing to travel three days per week; will include some overnights in Northern California; must attend mandatory monthly meetings in Sacramento; and have the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population. Child Nutrition Program knowledge and experience, as well as Registered Dietitians preferred.
