Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel, Tax and Fee Programs Division, the Tax Counsel III (Supervisor) organizes, directs, and reviews the work of Tax Counsels and Tax Counsel III (Specialists) in the Property Tax Section and oversees section personnel on a day-to-day basis. The Tax Counsel III (Supervisor) provides expert legal services to the Board and Board staff with respect to assigned subject matter areas, performing the complex legal work, including, but not limited to: independently conduct research; draft opinions; answer oral and written inquiries from the staff, the Board, other governmental entities, and the public; appear at hearings of the Board; draft or assist in drafting legislation and regulations; and provide expert advice and assistance to the Litigation Division and Deputy Attorney Generals regarding property tax issues in civil litigation cases. This position utilizes the Tax Counsel III, Supervisor exam. Travel required 5% of the time.
