Job Description:


This is a Post & Bid Position which means eligible Post & Bid candidates will have first consideration. However, if no Post & Bid candidates apply, this position will be open for consideration to all interested candidates.


Under close supervision during classroom or on the job training; once trained under supervision, the Disability Insurance Program Representative performs the duties entailed with Disability Insurance adjudication work for new and continued disability insurance claims. May act as an expert witness before the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, participates in the Department’s public information system and may represent the Department as a field visitor, and assist in public out-reach and education.

Candidates whose eligibility is based on a state employment list must submit a copy of their examination results, indicating their test score, along with proof that educational requirements have been met. All interested applicants must submit a standard State Application Form STD 678 (with original signature), and must clearly indicate the basis of their eligibility in line item number 12 (explanation) of the STD 678. Applications without eligibility information will not be considered. Appointment is subject to SROA and State surplus policies. Surplus candidates must submit a copy of their surplus status letter. Only the most qualified candidates will be interviewed. Note: Post and Bid Candidates will receive first consideration for this position, only if no bids are received from Post and Bid Candidates will the vacancy be opened for Non Post and Bid Candidates.
