Under the direction of the District Office Manager, a Staff Services Manager I, at the District Oakland Office, the incumbent will be responsible for administering the Construction Staff Training Program which includes coordinating the Annual Training Plan, preparing and monitoring the annual training budget, coordinating and scheduling training classes for over 800 District, Office of Structures, and Construction Consultant employees utilizing the department’s “Learning Management System” (LMS) within the Staff Central program. The incumbent serves in the capacity as both an LMS Training Administrator and a LMS Session Administrator for the Division. As the LMS Training coordinator, is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of course information in the LMS on-line training catalog. Incumbent will recommend additions and changes with the Departmental Subject Matter Expert and receive their approval prior to additions or changes. As the LMS Session Administrator, will be responsible for scheduling training in LMS, entering information into the Course Session Table, oversees the Supervisor approval process for enrolling students in training sessions, maintains accurate waiting lists, follows established procedures for completing sessions to ensure employee training history is properly updated, maintains the privacy and confidentiality of employees. Incumbent will also be responsible to maintain the Construction Training Calendar; performs the annual training needs assessment for the Work Force Development Program. Researches the availability of suitable courses from outside vendors and/or assists Construction Office personnel in development of in-service training alternatives and/or curriculum. Incumbent will be responsible to secure funding approval from Capital Outlay Support (COS) prior to student enrollment for all external training and may be required to train other staff on the LMS administrative roles and responsibilities utilizing established policy and procedures. Occasional travel may result in an overnight stay due to training purposes. This position does not supervise other employees.
