The Mission Valley Child Care Regional Office is recruiting for Licensing Program Analyst Complaint Specialist. Must be a current Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) in Range D. Under the general supervision of a Licensing Program Manager, the Licensing Program Analyst Complaint Specialist is responsible for conducting portions of the most sensitive and complex investigative activities. He/she will work in a team concept with a Supervising Special Investigator, Senior Special Investigator and a Licensing Program Manager
LPA will conduct portions of investigations in licensed and unlicensed facilities involving serious allegations of physical abuse, assault, battery and severe psychological abuse. Conduct complaint investigation and collateral visits to other agencies, police departments, schools, doctors' offices, hospitals, etc., as necessary to complete the investigation. Duties include identifying witnesses, conducting interviews with witnesses, coordination with the Senior Special Investigator. Work with investigative staff and Program Manager in recommending and developing administrative actions to revoke or suspend facility licenses.
The LPA works with legal staff of the Department, local district attorneys, and the Attorney General's Office. When action is pending against a substandard or unlicensed facility, serves subpoenas, Temporary Restraining Orders, Temporary Suspension Orders, and testifies at hearings and in court as necessary.
Must be able to use laptop computer in the field, LPA must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel frequently. The LPA must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to maintain composure in stressful situations. Bilingual Spanish preferred. The LPA is subject to fingerprinting and a criminal records check by DOJ/FBI. Subject to SROA/surplus policies, CDSS DROA process.
