Exciting career opportunity! Incumbent directly supports the activities & responsibilities of an area command, district office, HQ unit, and/or the activities of an investigative team(s). Collect/organize/analyze documents related to assigned cases. Develops facts pertaining to investigations by telephone/correspondence with consumers, licensees, and other entities; mediates/resolves complaints, or recommends follow-up action against suspected violators. Contact witnesses; complete service of process; prepare correspondence/other related reports as requested. Gathers/analyze evidence, formulates graphs/charts to assist in the preparation of reports of investigation. Load/transport/catalog evidence, and assist in search warrant execution. Assist on surveillance in support capacity; accompany investigators to prosecutor's office, case discussions and strategy meetings. Use/access electronic databases to assist in investigations. Input case info into the Case Management database (ICATS) and Automated Information Management System (AIMS); prepare database reports. Provides advisory assistance to federal/State/local law enforcement agencies, etc., and DMV's legal staff by preparing/gathering and presenting reports, and evidence for use in criminal/administrative proceedings.
Other related work as assigned.
Selected candidate will be required to participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program.
Position is housed in San Jose, but will relocate to Milpitas in Spring 2013.
Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance required before hire. Salary Range shown is the minimum and maximum for a full time appointment. Salaries for part-time and/or intermittent appointments may vary. “This position(s) may be subject to allocation approval by the Human Resource Branch.” A training and development assignment will not be considered. Salary posted is the actual base pay of classification. Actual base pay will be reduced pursuant to the Personal Leave Program (PLP). “SROA/Surplus candidates are encouraged to apply.”
