Metropolitan State Hospital-Plant Operations Department is seeking to hire for the classification of Electrician I. Job duties include but are not limited to: Must have knowledge of Personal/Security Alarm systems, Install and repair transmission lines for electrical equipment, assemble, install and repair electric lights, motors, heaters, generators, transformers, switchboards and other electrical apparatus, troubleshoot electrical systems; operate electrical power equipment; advise in the selection and storage of electrical equipment, consult and work with other trades people, make rough sketches and estimate the cost of minor electrical installations; keep simple records and make reports; and instruct and lead unskilled assistants. WHO MAY APPLY: Candidates with List or Transfer eligibility including surplus/SROA to this classification or former State employees eligible for Reinstatement. Note: Appointment is subject to State Restriction of Appointment (SROA), surplus and reemployment list procedures, pre-employment physical and fingerprint clearance.
