Under the direction of the Manager I, respond to request for information and attempt to solve problems posed by the public, law enforcement and other governmental agencies by phone, through correspondence, and in-person. Update/review and analyze driver records utilizing Driver Safety Automation system. Furnish the public with and explain the use of forms issued by the Department. Inspect documents for authenticity, signatures and completeness. Interpret, apply and explain the provisions of the Vehicle Code, administrative rules and regulations, policies and procedures and other applicable laws to the public, law enforcement and others. Coordinate scheduling of hearings and interviews as requested by drivers or their representatives, and schedule reexaminations as requested by hearing officers, or other professional staff. Create case files, issue subpoenas, and respond to requests for discovery. Assist as necessary with correspondence, filing and phones. Seeking an individual who is dependable, a fast learner with great customer service, and have good written/verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical skills. The candidate must have a positive attitude, work well in a team environment and demonstrate the ability to multitask, work efficiently and effectively.
