Duties: Under the
direction of the Office Services Supervisor I, the Word Processing Technician
performs a variety of clerical/secretarial duties including typing, proofreading,
revising, timekeeping, and storing departmental documents. Types, prepares,
formats, and processes correspondence and other documents generated by command
staff. Additional responsibilities include: processing subpoenas, answering
the telephone, completing and distributing the monthly roster, and assisting in
coordinating the command's central filing system.
Good attendance, punctuality, exceptional interpersonal and communication
skills, excellent computer and typing skills, knowledge of associated software,
strong editing skills, excellent work ethic, and willingness to work in a team
Persons currently in the classification eligible to transfer, lateral
transfers, voluntary demotions, reinstatements, those eligible for appointment
from a certification list, and employees on a SROA list or designated surplus.
