DUTIES:

Under the general direction of the Classification and Transactions Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the more complex and technical personnel management duties related to Position Management (PM) for the Air Resources Board (ARB), and will be the lead over the analyst responsible for position control duties for the Office of the Secretary, California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA). Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: developing statistical reports using the Management Retrieval System (MIRS), tracking and logging Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs), reconciling positions with the State Controller's Office (SCO) and ARB's budget staff, preparing and submitting Change in Established Position Forms (Std. 607), preparing and distributing monthly vacancy and staffing reports and organizational charts, and consulting the Classification and Pay analysts on position control activities. The incumbent will also be responsible for working on special projects assigned by the Classification and Transaction Manager, at the analyst level.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in the State's personnel related programs that include, classification and pay, progressive discipline, reasonable accommodations, position control, WC, departmental policies and procedures, and a clear understanding of personnel transactions, etc.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize workload, as well as work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Bring a team spirit and also the ability to work independently.
