Job Description:

Duties:  Under the direct supervision of a Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor, this position includes operating radio and telephone equipment, dispatching appropriate officers, and resources to incidents, and answering incoming telephone calls from the public, allied agencies, officer, and the media. 

Desirable Qualifications:  Must be able to maintain a good rapport with employees, peers, supervisors, allied agencies, and the public.  Must have the ability to work as part of a team.  Have excellent attendance and punctuality. 

The willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.  Possess a positive attitude, have the ability to take independent action and a high-degree of confidentiality that is essential in this position. 

Who may apply:  Persons currently in the Public Safety Dispatcher classification who are eligible to transfer, should submit a CHP 220, Request for Transfer, to the contact person below.  The most senior same-class transfer who responds by the final filing date shall be selected. 

Persons eligible to apply must be on a certification list, eligible to transfer, voluntarily demote, reinstate, or be on an SROA list or designated Surplus.  All applicants will be considered; only the most qualified will be interviewed.
