JOB DESCRIPTION :
Under the direction of the Data Processing Manager II, and general supervision of the ADMIN/Facilities Support Data Processing Manager II, the incumbent monitors Franchise Tax Board’s web infrastructure to help ensure 99.8% availability of web services to the public; analyzes alerts and monitoring data and takes action to respond and coordinate with appropriate technical and business staff for problem resolution; provides verbal and/or written reports to appropriate business clients, technical staff and/or executive staff regarding problem status, resolution actions, and preventative measures taken; coordinates with business and technical staff to validate and communicate changes to the environment; provides input to improve operational procedures for, including but not limited to, monitoring, alert notification and alert response, change and quality assurance, internal team and communications processes; provides effective communication of shift events during shift turnover. Other duties include: Command Center functions such as print room, tape library, monitoring mainframe batch processes and the escorting of Statewide Fingerprint Imaging System (SFIS) employees when on FTB premises. Position is for Swing Shift (Evenings), Monday through Friday.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Experience with web technology and infrastructure, specifically Microsoft IIS, SQL, .Net, MS Windows Server OS.
Experience with telecommunications and network devices: Routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
Experience with various network monitoring tools.
Service desk experience, knowledge of ITIL framework.
Organizational & Multi-Tasking skills.
Experience troubleshooting IT systems and documentation techniques.
Strong analytical skills to triage production incidents.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with technical and non-technical staff.
Ability to assist with the facilitation of meetings.
Strong customer service skills.
Experience and/or ability to work in a 24x7 environment with possible schedule adjustments.
