JOB DESCRIPTION :
This posting is for multiple vacancies; 1 position in CICS Support and 1position in Websphere Application Servers for zOS. Under the general direction of the System Software Support Section manager, depending on the position, the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of duties for the mainframe system. Duties will include: installation, support, design, testing, and recovery of mainframe related software, maintenance of exit routines and user modifications. Other duties will include: mainframe Tape and Disk storage configurations; expertise in mainframe storage hardware & software. Mandatory: support the z/OS team with planning, acquisition, and technical research; off-hours on-call support as needed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Experience with installing, customizing and supporting third party mainframe software or CICS or WebSphere or /TCP/IP or JES2 or z/OS Operating system software
  • Experience with SMP/E and IBM Mainframe JCL
  • Experience with scripting or programming
  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts
  • Ability to work independently, be results oriented, and do technical research
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex computer software/hardware problems
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and work outside of normal work hours if required
  • Experience with Assembler and Rexx Programming
  • Experience with installing and supporting Abendaid/CICSFX, or Omegamon or Top Secret or MQ Series middleware or CICS web based applications
  • Working knowledge IPCS
  • Experience with Automated Tape Libraries and Virtual Tape Systems
